The Open Source Projects Lounge is an exciting initiative designed to introduce students to the world of open-source development.
Hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science, this informal drop-in event welcomes students who are interested in learning more about contributing to open-source projects. Whether you’re just starting out or have some experience, the Open Source Projects Lounge is the perfect place to explore new opportunities and build your skills.
The sessions will take place every Wednesday from October 16, 2024, to November 27, 2024, and will feature discussions led by experienced developers, upper-year students, and industry professionals.
You’ll have the chance to learn about open-source platforms, discover new tools, and get guidance on how to start contributing to projects that align with your interests. Whether you’re passionate about software development, cybersecurity, data science, or anything in between, the Lounge is a supportive space for you to ask questions and get personalized advice.
Attending the Open Source Projects Lounge can help you connect with others who share similar passions and goals.
You’ll get to hear about the latest trends in open-source development, find out about internships and job opportunities, and discover valuable resources that will help you grow as a developer.
Plus, this is a great chance to meet people from different fields and learn how open-source collaboration impacts various industries.
The best part? No registration is required, and food will be provided at each session! So, whether you’re looking to learn more, network with others, or simply drop by to see what open-source is all about, you’re welcome to join us.
Bring your curiosity, your ideas, and an open mind – we can’t wait to see you there!
